Host A Holiday Extravaganza For Your Jolly Little Elves

Hosting a special children’s Christmas party for the special little people in your life can be quite a bit of work around the holiday season, but it can also be a whole lot of fun!  If they are old enough, enlist your children’s help in planning your holiday party.  Ask them what they would like on the dinner menu, what the invitations should look like, the kids of games the guests could play.  Your kids will love being able to make “grown-up” decisions about their Christmas party, and you just may be surprised with how helpful they can actually be!

When you and your children have settled on the invitation for this special children’s Christmas party, recruit them to help you create the invites.  You can do an assortment of ideas so that every guest receives a different invitation, or you can have them all be uniformed.  Use a variety of glitter, sequins, confetti and foil to create beautiful Christmas scenes like Christmas trees, stockings or presents.  Write the party information on the back of the invitations.  You guests will feel honored that you and your family took the time to make these invitations yourselves.

Instead of serving a sit down dinner at your special children’s Christmas party where most likely your young guests will not want to be sitting still for any length of time, just choose an assortment of finger foods that your guests are able to eat one at a time or carry around with them as they enjoy the party.  You could do mini meatballs, fresh fruit skewers, cheese and crackers, and of course, no holiday buffet would be complete without a wide assortment of Christmas cookies and holiday goodies!  You can make all of your favorite holiday treats, or discover new ones to try out on your guests.  Serve nice warm cocoa to finish off these tasty goodies!

When the party is over and your guests are filing out, surprise them with a goodie bag full of holiday treats.  You can fill them with specially made ornaments, Christmas cookies, candy canes, mini holiday games and toys from the dollar store and holiday stickers.  Wrap them up tightly with a bright green or red Christmas bow and your guests will leave this incredibly special children’s Christmas party with a smile on their face and Christmas joy in their hearts.
