A Mystery Party To Celebrate The Boys In Blue

The holiday season has arrived and it is time again for the annual policeman’s Christmas party for your precinct. You have the daunting task of being placed in charge of the party planning this year.  You have heard from several of your fellow officers over the years that they are getting tired of dragging their spouses to the same old buffet dinner at the same venue every year and they would like to see something different this year.  A fun way to liven things up is to have a Murder Mystery Party.

When looking for a venue site, try looking for an old mansion to rent in your area.  Hosting your event there can only add to the spookiness of your party and create a great ambience complete with dark candlelight and spooky organ music playing in the background.  Invite your guests to arrive in 1940’s period attire to add to the allure of an old Hollywood mystery movie.   If your party budget allows, you can hire a murder mystery team to take care of all the murder planning.  This time, an actor can play the detective, giving you and your colleagues the night off.

The way the party works is that sometime during the course of the night, two predetermined people from the party have been selected (unknowingly be the rest of the partygoers) to be the murderer and the victim.  At the appropriate time (the time the fake murder takes place) all of the lights inside of the mansion will turn off.  When the lights turn back on, the victim will be lying there dead on the floor with a clue lying next to him or her.  It is the job of the entire party to follow a list of clues and go on a scavenger hunt to try and determine all of the details to the murder.  The three key questions to be answered are who killed the victim, with what weapon and in which room of the mansion.  This adventure gets the entire party involved and will be a favorite for many years to come.  Take things up a notch this year and break away from the normal, boring holiday policeman’s Christmas party.
